Freedom Friday

It has been a while since I have been on here to share some wisdom.  While in my moment of absence, I have come to understand some things:

1.)We have to be careful of what we allow to distract us from what we’re suppose to be doing.  If you don’t stay balanced, your life can become like a “Teeter Totter”.  1 Peter 5:8 AMP says “Be well-balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for the enemy of yours, the devil roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.” Continue reading Freedom Friday

Proverbs 18:21 (MSG)

21 Words kill, words give life;
they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.

16th Street Baptist Church Bombing (1963)

In the moments after the explosion, questions hung in the air – ‘Where is my loved one?’ ‘Are they ok?’ ‘How much longer can this violence last?’ They did not ask if this was an accident, they knew that his was a bomb that had exploded as it had dozens of times before in “Bombingham.” www.nps.gov/subjects/civilrights/16th-street-baptist-church.htm  Continue reading FREEDOM FRIDAY

“Are you Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired?”

“The Ego is not who you really are. The ego is your self-image; it is your social mask; it is the role you are playing. Your social mask thrives on approval. It wants control, and it is sustained by power, because it lives in fear.”

– Deepak Chopra

This morning, I was speaking with a very good friend of mine about the ego.  She was telling me about a situation she was going through with a friend of hers; How it appeared that he was more concerned with being correct, than he was about relinquishing any power to her. So, as the conversation went on, she seemed to believe that this behavior is more prevalent in men than it is in women. I disagreed. I believe that men and women are, both, capable of displaying an enormous ego.

Freedom Fridays

Most people will say TGIF…”Thank God it’s Friday!” But, I say, “Thank God I’m free!” Free from the burden of not knowing my purpose in life. For those trying to figure out their God-given purpose, it can prove to be a very daunting process, especially if you’re trying to go it alone. Having to ask the right questions and to delve deep inside for the answers is one of the most difficult tasks I’ve ever had to face. “What do I love to do?,” “What am I good at?,” “What is important or essential to me for my life to be complete? or “What was I born to do or feel I ought to be doing?” Continue reading Freedom Fridays
