Listen, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. I will proclaim the name of  the LORD, Oh, praise the greatness of our God!!

Deuteronomy 32:1-3

On this 3rd day of the 2015th year of the Lord, I have come to know and encounter many who have come into this year feeling lost and just beaten down by life. People who, actually, need a spiritual refreshment. There are feelings of being lost and void of hope. But, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. There is always hope in life. As long as we are living and breathing, there is hope for change. We need to just cling to the idea that we’ve not been forsaken by the Almighty. That there is a plan for us. If we stop and ask, “What lesson is in this for me? ” And I know how hard self-reflection can be, especially, when life is beaten us down.

Question: What do you do when the person who you’ve looked up to all of your life is slowly trying to kill themselves?

Response: Well, you stay in prayer. Pray without seizing!

My father overcame drug addiction in 1995. He overcame cigarettes in 2007. He overcame cancer in 2008. In 2014, he went from needing 1 foot amputated to needing to have both of his feet amputated because the infection spread due to poor care. However, by the grace of GOD, he is able to walk. Only now, to be lost in a bottle. This is so overwhelming for all of us, but I’ve come to realize that I can not save someone who does not want to be saved. No amount of talking or pleading to the person will help. My pleas for my dad has to be sent to my Father in Heaven. I know He hears me and in my dad’s weakness, there is GOD’s strength.

Please allow the strength of the LORD to carry you in your time of hopeless and helplessness. He says that His yolk is easy and His burden is light. So, please, if someone is throwing you a life jacket, grab for it. You never know who GOD is sending to save you. He loves you and sends us to encourage one another.

Lord, I thank You for Your words that speak to my heart and needs. I long to soak in Your teaching and learn more about You. Your life-giving messages are like rain shower on new, green grass. I need not just a sprinkle, but a downpour-a soaking, abundant rain in my dry heart! Even though life can be challenging, I will proclaim the name of the Lord and praise the greatness of our God!

In this New Year, let’s journey together on the Pathway to Spiritual Rebirth.
