The Wife of Noble Character (Proverbs 31)

10 [a]A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

Mountain Monday

There are times and seasons in our lives where we, unbeknownst to ourselves, remove our focus from our Creator and start focusing on those things and people that are not godly or maybe I should say it more directly that they are not GOD. We MUST resist the practice of IDOLATRY…false GODs.   Continue reading Mountain Monday

Freedom Friday

It has been a while since I have been on here to share some wisdom.  While in my moment of absence, I have come to understand some things:

1.)We have to be careful of what we allow to distract us from what we’re suppose to be doing.  If you don’t stay balanced, your life can become like a “Teeter Totter”.  1 Peter 5:8 AMP says “Be well-balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for the enemy of yours, the devil roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.” Continue reading Freedom Friday

Proverbs 18:21 (MSG)

21 Words kill, words give life;
they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.

16th Street Baptist Church Bombing (1963)

In the moments after the explosion, questions hung in the air – ‘Where is my loved one?’ ‘Are they ok?’ ‘How much longer can this violence last?’ They did not ask if this was an accident, they knew that his was a bomb that had exploded as it had dozens of times before in “Bombingham.”  Continue reading FREEDOM FRIDAY

Booyyyyy, am I a daddy’s girl!!! I love my father so much. Even in his imperfections, I still revered my father.

My dad has had the constitution to overcome drug addiction. When the doctors later told him that his lungs could not sustain him if he continued to smoke…bam!!! He stopped smoking cigarettes, just like that.

Over the past 3 years, he has had some great health challenges.

WISDOM WEDNESDAY: Microwaving vs. Marinating

IN TODAY’S SOCIETY, most people enjoy the convenience of having things done quick, fast, and in a hurry. We have at our fingertips a plethora of fast food restaurants allowing us to have it our way.  Not long ago, while watching television, we would have to endure endless commercials interrupting our favorite shows. Now, we can actually bypass all of the commercials by using a DVR system.  Can you remember the last time you actually wrote a letter to a loved one requiring a stamp? Now we can instantly communicate through the sending of emails or text messages within seconds.  Not to mention, the capability of paying all of our bills online, which is practically annihilating our U.S. Postal Service, rendering it useless.   We are a society that thrives on instant gratification. Continue reading WISDOM WEDNESDAY: Microwaving vs. Marinating

Listen, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. I will proclaim the name of  the LORD, Oh, praise the greatness of our God!!

Deuteronomy 32:1-3

On this 3rd day of the 2015th year of the Lord, I have come to know and encounter many who have come into this year feeling lost and just beaten down by life. People who, actually, need a spiritual refreshment. There are feelings of being lost and void of hope. But, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. There is always hope in life. As long as we are living and breathing, there is hope for change. We need to just cling to the idea that we’ve not been forsaken by the Almighty. That there is a plan for us. If we stop and ask, “What lesson is in this for me? ” And I know how hard self-reflection can be, especially, when life is beaten us down. Continue reading SPIRITUAL REFRESHMENT

Yesterday, my husband and I joined three other phenomenal couples in a presentation to our Marriage Ministry on the Four Seasons of Marriage by Gary Chapman. It was truly an eye-opening experience as we shared on the season of fall. According to Dr. Chapman, in the fall season of marriage, couples undergo a period of change, just as the leaves change during that season, so does the marriage. It is so important for both, husband and wife, to look at marriage as not just being or giving  a percentage of 50/50 of themselves, but 100/100. You have to truly give your all and then some. It’s important to remember that trials may come, however, they don’t last always. But it’s what you do with it that matters. How you grow from it. Or, do you continue doing the same thing expecting a different result? Continue reading SEASONS OF MARRIAGE
